Hezbollah is not a Lebanese party. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said it several times on live TV. His nation is not even the Arab world, it is Islam.
And Nasrallah said a few days ago that he is fighting the battle of the Umma (the nation of Islam) despite Lebanon's will.
Nasrallah is the General of Khamanei. He might live in Lebanon but he considers it part of dar al-harb. Indeed Islam divides the world in two parts, Dar el-Islam, the House of Islam, and Dar al-harb, the house of War.
Lebanon is not an Islamic country and it is not ruled by Islam, therefore Khamenei's Sharia allows it to be destroyed for the greater cause of Islam. And Nasrallah dutifully obeys.
Today, Shiite refugees, mostly followers of Hezbollah, are all over Christian, Druzes and Sunni areas. Small and localized problems are happening here and there. Some of them are walking in the streets with guns, in some areas women are afraid to walk at night and houses are being robbed.
After all it is "hallal" (religiously permitted) to rob a non-Muslim for some twisted fundamentalist minds.
A reporter I know told me that a refugee girl who did not wear her veil was beaten in front of her.
People are scared that the small clashes will one day explode into a full fledged massacre, because Hezbollah is armed and the rest of the population is not.
A recipe for a new civil war.
Hezbollah has been brainwashing the poor Southerners since 1983. Today fundamentalism is the norm.
And Hezbollah was founded and is funded by Iran. The ideology, finance and arm shipments are all Iranian.
Why is Israel hitting Lebanon alone? That does not make sense. Because the moment there is a ceasefire is the moment that Hezbollah gets armed again.
The Israeli murderers want to make sure that Hezbollah is destroyed before the adventure against Iran starts. This is why the Iranians do not want Hezbollah to give up the fight, whatever the cost to Lebanon, because they know they will be next.

Nayfa Muhanna's childbearing days are long over, her husband having taken a second wife to produce the younger half of his huge clutch of 16 children.
Now, though, after Israeli -helicopter missiles destroyed the family farmhouse and wiped out their entire tobacco crop, she finds herself feeling broody again.
"It is our duty as mothers to start producing more boys to help the resistance," she said, to cheers from other residents in their refugee camp in the -southern Lebanese city of Tyre, where all 19 family members pitched up a fortnight ago. "We want them to be martyrs for their country in the fight against Israel."
Nobody could accuse the family of not doing its bit for the "Party of God".
Asked about the fighting in their village of Majdel Zoun, just a few miles from the Israeli border, Nayfa, 47, proudly mentions that her brother "disappeared" that day - not a suggestion that he is buried under rubble, but a coded way of stating that he has slipped off to join Hezbollah's forces.
The next time she sees him he may well be in a coffin. Yet, if so, there appears to be no shortage of family members willing to replace him on the front line. "I am very excited about defending my country," said her oldest son Mahdi, who is just 15. "If I do not, and others do not, then who will?"
After two weeks of Israel's military offensives on the southern Lebanese border, a whole new generation of youngsters like Mahdi is being groomed to follow in their uncle's footsteps.
Mahdi has dreamed of joining Hezbollah ever since he was 10, yet until two weeks ago the "enemy" has never been more than a vague presence at border fences.
Now, though, he and thousands of other children who are too young to remember the last major Israeli incursion 10 years ago have witnessed a new one first-hand, yielding a fresh crop of traumatised young minds that Hezbollah's propaganda machine can mould.
The Israeli army psy-ops leaflets airdropped into the border villages, which caricature Hezbollah leaders as cowardly snakes who send followers needlessly to the slaughter, are unlikely to win them over, especially not with so many of their parents spurring them on.
"We are ready to strap explosives to our children and send them to Israel," said Naim Mussalmani, 35, a farmer who fled the village of Shaitiah, on Tyre's outskirts. "My own brother exploded himself against the Israelis in 1998. Our women and children are ready to go out and fight if needs be."
In the past two weeks, the normally peaceful Mediterranean holiday resort of Tyre has been flooded with refugees fleeing the farming villages dotting the Israeli border as they become battlegrounds for fierce clashes between Hezbollah guerrillas and their Israeli foes.
The port city offers limited security as a safe haven: the crash of Israeli ordnance into the surrounding hillsides shakes Tyre's buildings relentlessly, and the sky over the deserted luxury marina hums constantly with jets and drone spyplanes.
Town Hall officials estimate that more than two thirds of Tyre's population of 270,000 have fled the city, leaving it more deserted than a rundown holiday resort in midwinter.
Shops are shuttered, rubbish lies festering in stinking piles, and the only signs of life are in the schools and government buildings where villagers from the border areas have sought safety.
With few humanitarian convoys able to reach them because of damage to the main road from Beirut, living conditions for the diaspora are grim. The luckier ones are crammed into long established Palestinian refugee camps, while the less fortunate are billeted in school classrooms, living off aid packages and with little access to washing facilities.
Worst off are those still trapped in the villages, unable to access even Tyre's meagre sanctuary because of the house-sized scoops that Israeli missiles have gouged in the narrow country roads.
Yet, despite the privations it has caused, there is little tangible sign of the Israeli campaign undermining support for Hezbollah.
Among those from the villages, where nearly every house flies a Hezbollah flag, nobody queries the movement's fateful decision to kidnap two Israeli soldiers, nobody blames it for the death and destruction it has provoked, and nobody even expects the organisation to look after them in the consequent chaos.
"The Government of Lebanon is not taking care of us properly," said Mr Mussalmani. "We have to look to our Palestinian brothers, who are refugees of Israeli aggression themselves, to help us out.
We do not ask Hezbollah for medicine or help. That is needed for their fighters, who are giving their blood for the nation. The whole of southern Lebanon are now ready to become martyrs."
The women standing around him in headscarfs shouted their agreement.
Hezbollah is brain-washing the people of Southern Lebanon to "defend" Lebanon from Israel. Israel has withdrawn to the international border 6 years ago, yet still Mothers are raising their children to become suicide bombers. Stop the hatred and educate who the enemy of the people of Lebanon really is.
And again people expect me to be concerned about these people, seems Isreal is giving them what they want most..martyrdom.

Hizbullah cannot be uprooted from Lebanon just as it is impossible to uproot the Moslem fundamentalism prevalent throughout Arab countries.
Nasrallah and Ahmadinejad share the same satanic ideology.
Ahmadinejad is depicted in the eyes of many as no more than a violent thug who cannot control his words. But he, as Hitler, is not marginal and he is not alone. He is being followed by masses of fanatics, who have replaced the Zig Heil with the call Allahu Akbar.
Nasrallah abducted Israeli soldiers and shelled settlements not on in the Lebanese or Palestinian interest, but in the name of a set religious platform, aimed entirely at destroying the Jews and the State of Israel.

Please remember this when you hear about the "atrocity" of the Israeli bomb that killed many civilians in Kafr Qana, a place from which Hezbollah has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel. Unlike previous administrations, Mr. Olmert has my respect when he says: "They were warned to leave. It is the responsibility of Hezbollah for firing rockets amid civilians."
Terrorists and their supporters have lost the right to complain about civilian casualties, since all they have is one goal: this entire war is to target civilians. Every single one of the more than 2,500 rockets launched into Israel, is launched into populated towns filled with women and children. Just today, another explosive belt meant to kill civilians in Israel was detonated harmlessly by our forces in Nablus.
So don't cry to me about civilian casualties. Cry to those using babies and wives and mothers; cry to those who store weapons in mosques, ambulances, hospitals and private homes. Cry to those launching deadly rockets from the backyards of kindergartens and schools. Cry to the heartless men who love death, and however many of their troops or civilians die, consider themselves victorious as long as they can keep on firing rockets at our women and children.

Typical anti-Shia bias by the Lebanese people. You pretend to be so enlightened, cultured and patriotic yet you all run away. I can understand if you have children, as you fear for their safety, but there are Lebanese living in the North who are continuing their clubbing, fooling around, generally having fun while others are starving and homeless. At least the Israelis are patriotic enough to stay and help rebuild their country and people no matter what happens.
Yes Hezbollah is a result of what happend in 82, but it's also the result of a society which has refused to give them equal opportunity, despite what is preached.
Yes people are living in the North and they are the real resistance. They are the Lebanon of development and private entreprise. They chose life, unlike the backers of Hezbollah, a party that idolizes a man and seeks martyrdom for an ideology.

You have every right to criticize Hezbollah, but they are as Lebanese as me and you and a plate of tabouleh. It's an organization that can and has evolved. You can sit back and complain and sip coffee in a corner while the party and the country becomes more whatever it is you don't like or you can work constructively and kindly to make sure that all Lebanese groups put Lebanon first. The Israelis applaud your hatred of Hezbollah because they are happy to see us divided. It makes it easier for them to eat Lebanon bite by bite. Lebanon is a tiny country -- and every person of every confession needs to work together constructively. The Israelis aren't turning against Olmert even though he's making a terrible gamble with this war because they understand that all of them -- from homosexual atheists to hard right Orthodox -- must unite in times of war. You can make a difference yourself in your own small way. Befriend a Shiite person you consider extreme. Understand his point of you and let him understand your point of view. If you "liberalize" one person, that could have a tremendous influence. And if Lebanese are communicating, we could make real progress for all. Please don't fall into the Israeli trap of trying to divide and conquer the Lebanese.

My prediction: when the fightin g has stopped and a force is in place, the people of Lebanon will vote and give Hezbollah a very strong political hold on the countryh so that it is but a matter of time before Lebanon becomes, like Iran, a religious state, with Sharia law. The good folks of Lebanon will do what the good folks of Palestine have done with Hamas: use democratic votes to put in place a terror gang that will totally unduye whatever hopes there had been for their country. Why is it people so often go against their own self interest?

To the anti-HA posters here: all this talk is very nice. But you are surely aware that whatever support HA had in Lebanon and neighbouring countries has been multiplied in the past three weeks. Why can you not see this? It just echoes the ongoing problems in Palestine: overbearing and unjust reprisals create the environment in which radicalism takes root and thrives.
Is this so difficult to see? Israelis in particular know that if you crush a people hard enough, it will bite back in the only way left to it: "assymetric warfare", what you call terrorism. HA was a resistance movement, resisting the Israeli occupation. And now Israel has given it the opportunity to expand its philosophy

Even the UN certified ( for me personally it means nothing ) that at 2000 we withdrew completely.
Look , my dear : your country has less than 4 mln. citizens , but also 1.5 mln. squatters from Syria and 0.5 "Palestinians" . T h a t is t h e real occupation !
I guess , almost all of these mentioned above support HA + maybe 1 mln. Lebanese citizens , most of them because false info. and Iranian propaganda.
So it comes that most of people residing now in Lebanon support HA , but I'm sure that most of Lebanese citizens don't.

Lebanon is not my country, so I can only guess what the prevailing mood is. But I think you could reasonably expect support for HA to have risen dramatically. The talk of good honest folk on each side of the border that just want to get on with their lives might have been true before. But a lot of those folk on the Lebanese side are now homeless, camping in Jordan and Syria or stranded abroad. It would be naive to expect them to come back to smashed homes and lost jobs and say, "Whew, glad that's over. Let's invite some Israelis over for dinner".
I see from the Daily Star that the Lebanese government and religious leaders have been calling for national unity. I just hope they have more luck with that than with their diplomatic efforts.
However, I join your wish: "Peace, Salaa'm and Shalom to all the Middle East".

P.S. Don't look for the US to attack Iran unless (until?) there is some clear Iranian offensive against a US target -- taken, perhaps, in response to an Israeli raid on Iranian targets. Then -- after the US elections, probably -- the gloves will come off.

I say the United States and Russia should just NUKE the entire middle east and populate it with oil refineries to prepare for the bigger war against China. But I suppose that idea wont get much political support.
The heart mourns for the deaths in Lebanon. My mother's heart could not bear to see the cry of the women and the poor injured and dead children. So much devastation for two Israeli soldiers who are, in reality, probably not even alive? Now the tide seems to be widening beyond the obvious and I am stepping back and asking questions.
First, there was the bombing in Cana, the site which Christians believe Jesus obeyed His mother Mary {Our Blessed Virgin Mary} and turned water into wine. A holy place. Now there is the threat of bombing christian areas where there is no stronghold or presence of hezbelloh. How does this make sense?
As someone not of either country, it is tempting to throw my hands up and just see two places that want to be at war with each other forever...neither side truly wanting a lasting peace. But in this case, I think the ferocity of the attack did not match the provocation. Do not get me wrong. I despise the kind of groups that convince their followers of the "honor" of strapping bombs to themselves or going to the frontlines to fight while they hang around in the back terrorizing people. Interesting thing to ponder here: You didn't see Osama flying a plane on 9-11 or the masterminds behind the Madrid bombings riding the trains did you? No, they just gained people's trust, their minds, and their lives along with it.
I am watching a country of people being desroyed. Everything they have, their loved ones, their way of life, is being bombed into nothingness. What will this achieve? You think this will make hezbelloh disappear? Or just fade away to gather more support and strength on the tide of anger and desperation of a war ravaged nation?
I am also watching places that are holy to me: Cana, Bethlehem, Churches, monasteries and convents be put in danger and it angers and worries me. For what I ask you? For what?
