Hezbollah to the rest of the Lebanese: "We are Lebanon and you are all tourists"

Hezbollah today is deciding the future of all Lebanese. They know best what is good for Lebanon.

They view themselves as the defenders of Islam! They are the storm troopers of the Prophet. Lebanon shlebanon they do not care about it. They do not care about the Arab world. They are the leaders of the whole Islamic world.

"Look the Shiites are much more successful at defending Islam than their Sunni brothers."

Tourism! What tourism? who cares about the economy when God is on your side, promising the ultimate tourist destination: paradise.

And who is going to pay the bills? The Islamic Republic of Iran of course and its yearly US$500 million to their Shiite cavalry in Lebanon.

Hezbollah has metamorphosed from a resistance force to Israel to a resistance force to Lebanon's development and progress.

This bunch of bearded Neanderthals wants us to live like our ancestors did in the 7th Century and nobody can stop them.

That's exactly what they'll do after their death. They'll go to paradise, but as tourist - meaning that they'll only get a shor visit tothe place. God will show them the place, tell them "look at what you're going to miss" and send them straight to hell.

Did you happen to catch the guide to Lebanon commercial played on LBC during live coverage of the bombing. It the one touting Lebanon as a tourist destination.... Nice Try LBC!! How ironic.

boutros-- i get why you see the commercial as ironic. but, on the other hand, it's not such a bad idea: a lot of people watching may be wondering whether or not they should cancel their holidays to lebanon now. doesn't hurt to remind them of the good side of the country while they're getting a heavy dose of the bad.

The most important thing for Lebanese at the moment is to stand together because whats done is done. Hizballah overstepped its lines by acting on behalf of an entire country - a weak and divided country. But to aggravate that division would give Israel and Syria dangerous pretexts to intervene in Lebanese politics and that would make matters much worse. We need to be unified and firm against Israeli violence and we can start showing our anger at other Lebanese once the crisis is over.

That makes absolutely no sense, and sounds like a cowardly way of bowing to perception at the expense of trut and justice NOW. HA is draining Lebanon of its chances to grow its democracy. It must be stopped. Israel should kill every single hizbullah, and Lebanon will be better for it.

Somebody CAN stop them. Not one somebody, but if you work together, you can do it. People have been afraid of them, look where that leads.

They betrayed you. You will never be able to trust them, because they showed they don't care about the Lebanese. They may talk religion, but what they want is power.

You have a democracy now, go out and talk to others, make politics work for you. And if it takes risk, or violence, what do you have to lose? Don't sit back and let others make your decisions for you. And for God's sake, if it takes asking for help, ask for it, don't let these goons turn your beautiful country into a sewer. Nobody I know of wants to take over your country except Syria & Hezbollah.

You are upset, and shocked, and sad, but don't give in. Nobody will speak for you if you don't speak for yourself.

Decent Lebanese civilians must put an end to this! If you let Hezbollah run amok, there will be no limit to the destruction. I once took the stand in court and testified against my older brother. He was guilty and I knew it. All the lawyer jokes aside, the american legal system can work when honest people stand up and do the right thing.

Do you want peace? Maybe it is time for you to speak up even if it is your brother promoting the violence. I cannot tell you it will be easy but the end results will be worth it.

I see two possibilities:

Israel occupies Lebanon for the next three to five years, or a peacekeeping force does.

US will never do it without Europeans, and the europeans will never do it.

There is a good chance that the Israelis will make a run for the Iranian and Syrian air force-they are just waiting for the 'reason'.

Ironically, the only thing that will bring international intervention is Israeli aggression outside of Lebanon. I don't think that the EU will make a move, unless it is to 'defend' against this happening.

Nor do I think the EU would get involved, if Syria and Iran entered Lebanon, but upon their presense the war opens.

I can't see it ending without more escalation.

Iran, Syria and others have poked at Isreal for 32 years using you as a door mat.

You are not happy with Hezbollah shooting at Israel and so they return fire upon Lebanese people and their homes and businesses.

Hezbollah should attack from Iran and face the music like men.

Instead it is Lebanon who suffers the backlash of Hezbollah attacks and not Iran and Syria.

Time to send Hezbollah back home where they can fight at their, not your expense. TG

Right on Tony. Iran, Syria an Hezbollah are willing to fight Israel down to the last Lebanese and Palestinian.

Drive the Iranian and Syrian dogs out and Lebanon can live in peace. You allowed the terrorists to make war from your country, why are you surprised that the war has come to you.

Lebanon rejected the council of it's own brothers and sisters but instead listened to the words of shaytan spoken from Iran and you wonder why your brothers and sisters are silent at the fate you chose.

Throw off the heavy yoke of Syria and Iran, force hezbollah from your country and live in peace.

hello all
I'm a sane woman of 40 living in a suburb next to Tel-Aviv.I honestly feel for you, people of Lebanon, each time i hear the air force planes fly north(and they go on day and night)I hope for 2 things:first,I'm hopping for their safe return, second,I'm hopping no sivillians would get hurt. Most Israelies feel this way,it doesn't make anybody happy the terrible ordeal that we inflict upon the Lebanise people. In fact there is no reason our 2 countries couldn't live in peace next to each other and prosper together... .But you must understand that if Lebanon doesn't deal with Hizbolla,we'll have to.Living under this constance threat of Hizbolla is not an opption for us.I hope we'll all live to see better days...
